Terms of service

Terms of Service

Last updated: 10 September 2026

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through this website. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

We are an independent retailer specialising in second-hand and pre-owned photography equipment, including cameras, lenses and related accessories.

Our business and contact details are displayed on our website and can be used if you have any questions about an order, product or these Terms.

2. Second-Hand Goods

Unless clearly stated otherwise, products offered on this website are used or pre-owned.

Because our products are second-hand, they may show signs of previous use. We aim to describe the condition of each individual item accurately and provide photographs of the actual item wherever practical.

Condition descriptions such as Excellent, Very Good or Good are intended as general condition grades. Any significant cosmetic marks or known functional issues will be disclosed in the product description where applicable.

Normal signs of use that are consistent with the stated condition of a second-hand item are not considered defects merely because the product is not in new condition.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights regarding goods that are faulty, not as described, or otherwise fail to meet applicable legal standards.

3. Product Photographs and Serial Numbers

Where possible, product photographs show the actual item being offered for sale.

Serial numbers and other identifying information may be recorded before dispatch for stock control, security, fraud prevention and verification of returned goods.

Customers must return the same item originally supplied.

Any suspected product substitution, serial-number mismatch, tampering or fraudulent return may be investigated and, where appropriate, reported to the relevant payment provider or authorities.

4. Product Availability

Many of our products are individual second-hand items and only one unit may be available.

Adding an item to your basket does not reserve it. An item remains available for purchase until an order has been successfully completed.

In the unlikely event that an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and issue a full refund where we are unable to fulfil the order.

5. Prices

All prices displayed on the website are in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise.

The price shown at checkout is the price payable for the item, together with any applicable delivery charges.

We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If an obvious pricing or listing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the affected order and refund any payment made before dispatch.

6. VAT Margin Scheme

Where applicable, eligible second-hand goods are sold under the VAT Margin Scheme for second-hand goods.

Under this scheme, VAT is accounted for on the profit margin rather than on the full selling price. VAT is therefore not shown separately on invoices for Margin Scheme sales.

Not all products are necessarily eligible for the VAT Margin Scheme. Where an item is not eligible, VAT will be treated in accordance with the applicable normal VAT rules.

For eligible Margin Scheme transactions, invoices may include wording such as:

“Margin scheme – second hand goods”

in accordance with HMRC requirements.

7. Orders and Payment

By submitting an order, you are offering to purchase the product at the price shown.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:

  • payment cannot be authorised;
  • we reasonably suspect fraud;
  • an obvious pricing or listing error has occurred;
  • the item is no longer available; or
  • we cannot safely fulfil the order.

If payment has already been taken for an order we cancel, the appropriate refund will be issued.

8. Delivery

Available delivery methods, charges and estimated delivery times are shown on the website or during checkout.

We aim to dispatch orders within the timeframe stated on the product page or checkout.

Unless otherwise agreed, UK distance-selling rules generally require goods to be delivered within 30 days.

Risk in the goods passes to the customer once the goods have been delivered to the customer or a person nominated by them, subject to applicable law.

For higher-value equipment, we may use tracked or signed-for delivery.

9. Cancellation and Returns

For online purchases, consumers generally have the right to cancel an order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason.

After notifying us of cancellation, customers generally have a further 14 days to return the goods. Refunds are generally due within 14 days after the returned goods are received.

Our separate Return and Refund Policy explains the return procedure in more detail and forms part of these Terms.

Customers may inspect an item as reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality. Where handling goes beyond what would reasonably be permitted in a shop and causes a reduction in value, an appropriate deduction from the refund may be made where permitted by law.

10. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods

Nothing in our Terms or Return Policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

Goods supplied to consumers must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, taking into account that the goods are second-hand and their stated condition, age and price.

If you believe an item is faulty or materially different from its description, please contact us promptly so we can investigate and provide the appropriate remedy.

11. Returns Verification

Returned goods may be inspected before a refund is processed.

We may compare serial numbers, photographs, identifying marks, accessories and the recorded condition of the item against our dispatch records.

We reserve the right to challenge a return where there is reasonable evidence that:

  • a different item has been returned;
  • parts or components have been substituted;
  • the item has been deliberately damaged;
  • the item has been tampered with internally;
  • supplied accessories are missing; or
  • the item has been used or handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and its value has been reduced.

Any action we take will remain subject to applicable consumer law.

12. No Retrospective Discounts

Once an item has been purchased and delivered, we do not normally provide retrospective discounts or partial refunds simply because a customer later finds the same or similar item offered elsewhere at a lower price.

This does not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, materially misdescribed or otherwise covered by applicable consumer law.

13. Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, specifications, prices, photographs and availability information are accurate.

Minor typographical errors may occur.

Manufacturer specifications are provided for reference where appropriate. Customers should check compatibility with their own camera bodies, lenses, accessories or other equipment before ordering.

If you are unsure about compatibility, please contact us before purchasing.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability that cannot legally be excluded for faulty or misdescribed goods, personal injury caused by negligence, or other statutory consumer rights.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

15. Personal Information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Information may be processed for purposes including order fulfilment, payment processing, fraud prevention, customer support and compliance with legal obligations.

16. Website Use

You must not misuse this website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, interfere with its operation, or use it for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, services or legal obligations.

The Terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when you placed your order.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom.

If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply to you based on where you live.
